Cover Reveal and Release date for Hearts of Metal, Book 3!

Hey everyone!

I am so excited to show off the cover for the third Hearts of Metal book!

Drumrollllllll!

Isn't it gorgeous! This might be my favorite of the series.

The book will release on September 27th!!!

Squeeee!!! I was not expecting it this quick!

And here's a shiny new blurb!

THEY’RE EVERYTHING
THEY DON’T KNOW THE OTHER NEEDS

a HEARTS OF METAL Romance

HE’S THE BEST THERE IS

Dante Deity is revered by everyone who knows anything about heavy metal music and respected by everyone else. Rich, handsome, successful, his voice is velvet-wrapped lightning, and his ability to juggle numerous philanthropic ventures and still crank out hits is unmatched. When he’s on tour, music is his life. When he’s taking a break, he’s thinking about his next tour—or working on a project that helps him forget he’s alone. In front of him lies his next endeavor.

SHE’S READY TO BE MORE

Shayna Jones is fleeing her past. Tragedy, infidelity, heartbreak: the twenty-five year old has suffered it all. She was strong enough to run, however, like a spunky heroine from one of her novels, and soon she’ll be flying…just as soon as she can walk again. But this time she has help. Unlike her abusive ex-husband or her bullying mother, the man standing before her is determined she succeed. In fact, Dante commands it. But while his intensity and generosity can easily win her heart, to gain her trust a man must first prove she’s something worth worshipping. Even—or especially—a rock god.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited!

RELEASE day for UNLEASHING DESIRE!

It's here! Unleashing Desire is finally here! I've been anxious to bring this particular book out into the world because it resolves two plot threads from both books one and two in the Brides of Prophecy series. Though if I were to recommend which book to read before this one, it would be book two, IRONIC SACRIFICE, which you can get Free by signing up for my newsletter!

However, book one, WRENCHING FATE is only 99 cents, so why not snag both!

Now I used to just post Amazon links, but thanks to Draft2Digital's Books2Read program, I now have a link where you can get the book from the e-tailer that YOU prefer! So go get Unleashing Desire HERE!

Also, I'm celebrating this release with a Facebook party today with tons of guest authors and lots of giveaways. Come here to join in on the fun!

Here's the blurb:

A setup so perfect… it might just be fate.

Radu Nicolae has spent centuries in a guilt-induced hibernation beneath the ruins of his family castle. The only time he awakens is to feast on the occasional vampire hunter. When Lillian Holmes invades his lair, trying to kill him for a crime he did not commit, he decides it is time to rejoin the world. As he feeds on the inept, but delectable hunter and sees her memories, he realizes that he is being used as a weapon to murder her. Radu does not like being used.
Agent Lillian Holmes, of the Abnormal Investigation Unit, is sent on a mission to kill the vampire who murdered her father. But when she tries to stake Radu, he awakens. When his fangs sink into her throat, she thinks she’s a goner. To her surprise, she wakes up a prisoner. Furthermore, Radu did not kill her father. The AIU killed Joe Holmes and sent Lillian to Radu to die.

Together, they strike a bargain: Lillian will help Radu travel to the United States to reunite with his long lost twin brother. In return, he will help her take down the men who killed her father. As their relationship deepens on their journey, so does the danger. Not only must they keep government agents from finding out that Lillian is alive, but she also has a secret that will rock the foundations of the vampire world.

*** Bonus Excerpt***

Razvan’s footsteps echoed as he paced through Akasha’s shop. He lit his pipe and the smell of cherry tobacco mingled with the old oil and grease, reminding him of a bygone era. Isuzu, Akasha’s seal point Siamese watched him contemptuously from his perch atop a Stingray Corvette. At least the feline didn’t growl and hiss at him anymore.
Akasha rolled out on her creeper, the little light above her safety glasses nearly blinding him. “Would you stop pacing? It’s driving me batshit.”
“I apologize.” He halted and sat on one of the stools. It wasn’t like him to behave so nervously.
She flipped up the glasses and lit a cigarette before sitting up and rolling her shoulders until they made a cracking sound. “It’s okay. I had no idea you’d become so attached to this baby.”
He glanced back at the dark blue Charger on the jack stands. He’d inherited the car after Akasha’s mentor had been murdered. Razvan hadn’t known that Max liked him all that much. Yet the Charger had been bequeathed to him along with the words, “that son of a bitch needs to learn how to drive.” A lump filled his throat. “Of course I’m attached to it. Not only is it my first car, I inherited it from a great man.” Before he got overly sentimental, he inclined his head at her ‘73 Roadrunner on one of the lifts. “I wager you are pleased to be working on your own car.”
Akasha grinned. “It’s about damn time. Car d’Lane is only a week away, and of course everyone and their dog wants their car done at the last minute. I’m sorely tempted to say no to anyone who’s a daywalker.” But she never would and they both knew it. She loved working on older cars.
Razvan nodded. That explained the surplus of classic cars taking up every lift in the shop, relegating his Charger to mere jack stands. Every June, the townspeople polished up their classic cars for the annual car show. Akasha always drove her Roadrunner in the cruise down Sherman Avenue. Jayden would ride with her. Razvan and Silas would have to wait until dark before they were able to informally show off their cars.
Akasha broke into his musing. “Dude, you look really distracted. It’s more than just the car. Are you nervous about the wedding?”
“Somewhat,” Razvan confessed. “Jayden has already planned so many details that I’ve lost count. I hope I don’t do anything to ruin it.” He took another draw from his pipe. “But mostly I’m worried about Radu. I swear I can sense him getting closer.”
Akasha nodded. “That makes sense. You’re twins, after all.” A line of worry formed between her brows. “Do you really think he’s going to be hostile?”
“I don’t know.” Razvan sighed. He remembered the utter wrath and fury in his twin’s eyes the last time they’d seen each other. Razvan had been holding Uta, Radu’s mortal lover in his arms. He’d accidentally broken her neck from shaking her in anger. Radu had burst in the door right after. Then they had fought bitterly until they’d been forced to flee from the dawn. Razvan hadn’t seen him since.
So it was indeed likely that Radu would try to kill him. Yet Razvan still wished to see him again. The absence of his twin felt like an amputation. For better or worse, they needed each other.
Not wanting to elaborate, he rose from the stool and approached his car. “I must thank you again for making room for me in your busy schedule.”
“No problem.” Akasha crushed out her cigarette in one of the ashtrays scattered around the shop. “It’s better than having your driveline fall out in the middle of the road. I still can’t believe Max didn’t keep an eye on those U-joints.” She bent and picked up her ratchet and tapped it against her palm as she continued. “It’s also in dire need of a tune up, and I want to change the leaf springs, give it an alignment, and…”
Razvan shook his head. “Are you trying to bankrupt me?”
“No, I’m trying to keep your car in good condition,” she said sternly, tapping the ratchet harder on her hand. “Owning a classic car is a big responsibility, you know.”
A drop of something flew from the socket on the ratchet and landed in Razvan’s goatee. Immediately, the most foul odor invaded his nostrils. “Good Lord, woman, what is that?”
“What’s what?”
“Something flew off your tool and landed in my beard.”
Akasha lifted her ratchet and sniffed the socket on the end. Immediately her nose wrinkled and she drew back. “Oh shit! I’m so sorry!” Her words broke off in a giggle. “It’s gear oil.”
“This is not amusing,” Razvan said and strode over to her shop sink to try to wash it out while Akasha alternately laughed and apologized.
“You won’t be able to wash it out,” she said. “The smell sticks to anything for all eternity.”
Razvan shot her a glare and kept scrubbing with degreaser soap. Then he tried the borax, and then the dish soap before at last admitting defeat. “I’m going to have to shave,” he grumbled. “Now.”
“I really am sorry.” Akasha scooped up her cat and gestured for him to follow her out of the shop.
They took Silas’s car and drove to the castle on top of Cherry Hill, where the Lord Vampire of Coeur d’Alene resided. Even with the convertible top down, Razvan’s eyes watered from the pungent odor of the gear oil. He darted out of the ‘68 Barracuda the moment Akasha parked in front of the massive garage. Isuzu followed behind him.
When Razvan burst through the door and started up the stairs, Silas and Jayden looked up from the dining room table.
“What’s wrong?” Silas asked, bending to pet the cat.
Razvan pointed at Akasha. “Your wife ruined my beard. I need to use your razor.”
Akasha blushed as she looked at her husband, finally looking truly repentant. “I accidentally flicked gear oil at him.”
“Oh… my…” Silas breathed before looking back at Razvan with pity. “My razor’s in the bathroom in the master bedroom.”
“Thank you,” Razvan said tightly, avoiding Jayden’s gaze lest he see pity there as well. Unable to stand the wretched smell a minute longer, he ran up the stairs.
When he emerged, Jayden and Akasha looked at him with wide eyes before they both shook their heads.
“No mustache,” his fiancé said. He couldn’t tell if that was horror in her green eyes, or a fight against laughter.
“Yeah, you look like a 70’s cop,” Akasha said. “Or a porn star.”
That had him heading back up the stairs. Once Razvan finished and washed the shaving cream off his face, he froze, staring into the mirror at his hairless chin and upper lip.
He was looking at his brother’s face.

WITH VENGEANCE IS HERE!

I am excited to announce that WITH VENGEANCE, (Hearts of Metal Book 2) is now available!

Here's the blurb:

Katana James is about to become the studio guitarist for her favorite heavy metal band ever—and meet the musicians, music, and man of her dreams.

SHE MEANS BUSINESS

Twenty-three year old Katana James can shred on the guitar. Not that anyone would know, as she’s spent most of her time working on a popular news and gossip website for Heavy Metal fans since her own band broke up. But her dreams are in reach when she gets an audition to play with her favorite band, Bleeding Vengeance. Kat won’t let her gender, her anxiety disorder, or even the pranks of a malicious stalker stand in her way. The only thing to threaten her focus? A growing fascination with the group’s brilliant, mysterious bass player.

HE OFFERS PLEASURE

Klement Burke has always been the heart, soul and brain of Bleeding Vengeance. He’s the kind of rock star who stays in the shadows, a perfectionist more interested in satisfying his brain than other parts of his body. Until he auditions Katana James. At first it seemed a perfect idea, as he’s been aware of her talent for some time. But meeting her in the flesh ignites thoughts far from professional. Despite the conflict of work, the odds against her falling for a geek like him, and a secret he’s been hiding, his heart, body and soul now belong to Kat.

Conjuring Destiny is here!!!

Holy wow, you guys!

With all the challenges and pitfalls, I thought this day would never come.

Conjuring Destiny is here at last!

Here's the blurb:

Famous rock star, Xochitl Leonine, has dreamt of a world with two moons where a black cloaked man beckons her. One Halloween night, she meets the mysterious stranger of her dreams… literally... and their shared dance becomes a rendezvous in a place of endless night.

Zareth Amotken has no idea how important Xochitl’s heavy metal band is to her. As an immortal sorcerer, he doesn’t care. He has one goal: to find the prophesied savior of his world. Her voice holds the power to bring back his world’s vanished sun.

Xochitl’s compassion urges her to help in any way she can. Yet learning the mysteries of her past causes conflict with her future in music. Her destiny in his world and her obligations to her band pull her in opposite directions. How can she long for one while the other is so dire?

As Zareth introduces her to his people and teaches her to control her powers, she aches for his enchanting kiss. Zareth tries to resist, for their passion will unleash serious consequences, both political and magical.

As the time to fulfill her destiny draws closer, she must choose between her heart, her duty, and her friends. The wrong choice could ruin everything.

But if Zareth’s evil half brother succeeds in taking control of her for his own ends, he will take away her choices… and destroy the world.

If you’re looking for a strange & magical fantasy romance, this book is for you

From the bestselling paranormal romance author with over 1000 reviews and ratings of her romance books across Goodreads, Amazon and other retailers.

You can Purchase it on:
 Amazon
iBooks
Kobo
All Romance
Nook
Google Play Books

This is hands-down the hardest, most complex book I've ever written. And my hard drive dying didn't help matters.

But I got it!

This is also the weirdest book I've ever written. Probably because my heroine, Xochitl Leonine is a really weird character.

It's also the point where the series starts delving more from urban fantasy to straight fantasy, kinda like Stephen King's dark tower books, only with a romance with every book and well, not King's delightful brand of craziness, but my own strangeness.

I confess that I'm terrified about how you readers will react to this book, but so far the advance reviews seem positive.

I'm also having a Facebook Party today with a ton of fabulous guest authors. We'll be playing games and having giveaways! If you want in on the fun, click here: https://www.facebook.com/events/566927936780096/

And finally, my blog tour kicks off today. Here's the itinerary, where there will be reviews, guest posts, exclusive excerpts, and of course, giveaways!

Gearing up for Conjuring Destiny!

Huh, for some reason Blogger only let me put this picture up REALLY big or super tiny. Sorry about that.

Anyway, Holy Wow, Conjuring Destiny comes out in only 8 days.

It's available for pre-order on
Amazon

And getting it ready has been a wild ride. Since this is the most complex book I've ever written, the revision process was equally more involved. Plus, I had to get advance review copies ready on the 1st.

Ranting about that process could take pages, so instead we'll just say that it involved being stuck at the computer for 16 hours for several days.

After that, I had some formatting hell.

But I got the ARCs off to reviewers.

...And then my hard drive died and I had to get a new laptop. Thanks to getting the ARCs out, I was able to recover the book and reformat it.

This last week was dedicated to getting it ready for print and sending it off to the retailers.

Whew!

Now it's just fun stuff like preparing for my virtual release party and book tour.

If you want to sign up for the promo blast and enter to win a $25 gift card, go here: http://goo.gl/forms/TMLMhvbwpL

And if you want to be part of the tour and feature the book, go here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F094FADAB2EA6FF2-conjuring

I am really excited, and, I admit, terrified. Although so far the advance reviews have been positive, I'm still worried about how this one will be received.

For one thing, it's different than the first 2 books in the series, and it's definitely more fantasy than urban fantasy.

For another, fantasy is HARD! I had to build a whole new world and sets of different people and cultures. So I hope I didn't suck at it.

Also, my heroine, Xochitl, is really weird. She was definitely the most challenging character to write.

So, I'm crossing my fingers that you all like this one.

Now I'm going to get back to writing. Hearts of Metal, book 3 and Scandals with Bite, Book 4 need attention.

Why I wrote a heavy metal romance series.

My heavy metal romance, KISSING VICIOUS came out last Friday. W000000T!

And I totally forgot to blog about it here. Booooooo.

But, better late than never.

Many of you know that I got my start writing historical paranormal romance. However, as much as I love writing about the scandals and ball gowns and dangerous dukes, and of course, sexy vampires, I also love heavy metal music.

Something about shredding guitar riffs, fast drums, and powerful vocals makes my passion rise.
Aside from taking joy in the music, I’m also fascinated with the musicians themselves. The hard work they endure to fulfill their dreams, the crazy situations they encounter on the road. I’ve read all about Ozzy Osbourne’s notorious exploits, Ronnie James Dio’s extensive accomplishments, and Dave Mustaine’s struggles with drug addiction as he sought to outdo the band he was fired from… and succeeded by creating my favorite band, Megadeth.

As I learned more about my favorite rock stars, I realized that there is more to the metal world than sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll. They are passionate artists and although some are real jerks, others astounded me with their kindness to fans and charitable acts.

I also realized that the music industry would be a very difficult world in which to find love, with the constant travels from gig to gig, and the overzealous groupies. But of course, my romantic imagination spun a tale.
And that’s how Kissing Vicious was born. The world of Heavy Metal is mostly male dominated.  What if a woman worked as a roadie? How would the band and crew see her? What problems would arise if she got involved with one of the band members?

My heroine, Kinley Black, is about to find out.

Here's the blurb for KISSING VICIOUS!

Aspiring guitarist Kinley Black is about to get her first big break—as a roadie for Viciöus, her favorite heavy metal band, and for the rock god she always dreamed might make her a woman.
THE ROADIE
At 15, aspiring guitarist Kinley Black wished she were a boy. At 16, after hearing Quinn Mayne sing, she wanted him to make her a woman. Now, at 22, her dreams have come true. Quinn’s band Viciöus needs someone to lug their amps around the country, to strive and sweat with the guys. She just has to act like one of them.
AND THE ROCK GOD
Quinn had to admit the new chick could pull her weight, but that didn’t mean his road manager made the right choice. Taking a hottie on a heavy metal music tour was like dangling meat in front of a pack of feral hounds—and Quinn could be part dog himself. But more surprising than her beautiful body are Kinley’s sweet licks, so that no man could help but demand a jam session. Quinn will soon do anything to possess her, and to put Kinley in the spotlight where she belongs. And to keep her safe and sound from the wolves.

Big News For BRIDES OF PROPHECY fans!

Hello, everyone!

Sorry I've been away for so long. Aside from some freelance editing, work on my second metal romance, I've also been plugging away at the much awaited third book in my BRIDES OF PROPHECY series.

I even came up with a title.

I also finally got the cover how I want it.

BEHOLD!!!

But most importantly, I've accomplished sufficient progress to be able to place it on pre-order.

So here is the blurb and here are the pre-order link: Alas, Nook is a butt and won't let me set up a pre-order, but here's the Kindle link for now: So Pre-order it now!

and I'll also be getting it up there for Kobo and Apple in a day or two.

I am very excited about this book. This is where the series takes a stranger turn. It has been the most complex and challenging thing I've ever written.

There is also awesome news around the corner for my upcoming heavy metal romance series, so stay tuned!

TNEE Recap Part 3: Stranded in La Grande

After four nights in Vegas, I was more than ready to get back to Reno and have a good rest before picking up the car and heading home.

On the seven hour drive, I got some pictures of some scenery I missed.

Back in Reno, my sweetie's dad was away on business but we had fun hanging out with his step-mom, who convinced his dad to give him his grandma's banjo. Apparently she was like a rock star in the 20's. It was awesome!

Of course the car was late getting finished the next morning, but we still were on track to get home by 2am Tuesday... until the car broke down in La Grande, Oregon, 5 hours from home.

...And I had a virtual release party planned for BITE AT FIRST SIGHT the next afternoon.

It was irony at its best. Right after getting front end work done on the car, the rear blew up. Thankfully we broke down right by a hotel... with an internet connection.

Too exhausted to do anything, we checked into the hotel and called all the nearby parts stores first thing in the morning. The La Grande Inn is amazing. They were kind enough to let Kent work on the Falcon in their parking lot and were super nice about everything. They were the antithesis of the evil Planet Hollywood.

The thing about having an old car and trying to get parts is that it can take awhile. We were told by all that it would take until the next day. It was a good thing my sweetie had just gotten paid from one of his jobs and was able to get the room for another night because, thanks to the Planet Hollywood overcharging my account by $465, I only had 45 bucks to my name.

But there was nothing to be done about it. We went and picked up some lunch at a wonderful cafe, picked up some hard cider and my sweetie dealt with the car while I first fought with the hotel. (The Planet Hollywood, NOT The La Grande Inn.) I had to bring my bank in on a three-way conversation before I got anywhere. I got a little over half of my money back.

Then I celebrated my book release.

Despite being stranded, I actually had a nice time. The party was fun, I got to interact with a ton of readers and authors I adore, AND reviews for BITE AT FIRST SIGHT were popping up everywhere, casting a cheerful glow on my troubles.

Another cool thing about La Grande was that it had a Trolley! I forgot to get a picture, but here's one from google images.

The next day as we got the parts, we discovered that we needed tools we didn't have to do the repair (But at least we HAD tools. Always have tools when you have an old car). So we had to take it to the shop... as we're both mechanics, this was a blow to our pride.
The shop then discovered that we were given the WRONG parts. That meant another day of waiting... and fighting with the Planet Hollywood to get the rest of my money back. But at least I had some of it and was able to reserve the room for another night.

We had dinner at this fantastic barbecue restaurant. 17 bucks got us brisket, tri-tip, ribs, mashed red potatoes, cheesy cauliflower-broccoli bake, and cornbread. And it was delicious.
We walked back to the hotel and got a friendly wave and smile from the local sheriff (With constant sights of my boyfriend walking to the parts store and auto repair shop and the jacked up car in the hotel parking lot, I figure he knew our situation). Really, everyone in that town was super-nice. If you end up stranded, let it be somewhere like La Grande.

We cuddled and watched Con-Air before going to bed.

The car was ready the next morning right at check-out time and we were finally on the road home. My boyfriend even got to pump his own gas in Oregon, because with his car's antique filler hose, the attendant decided it "would be best that way."

There aren't many interesting sights on the drive from there to Coeur d'Alene, but we did see these nifty rock formations.

Then a whole lotta nothing.

By the time we reached Spokane, we joked about how we never imagined we'd be so happy to see it. (It's a rival town thing).

Another bit of local humor are two signs you pass on the way home. First is "Now Leaving Apple Maggot Quarantine Zone" followed by the beloved, "Welcome to Idaho!"

After this crazy trip, I am eternally grateful to all of my friends and family, in person as well as online. Your supportive comments and words of encouragement lightened my stress.

And I cannot thank my boyfriend enough. Yet again, if he hadn't been with me, I would have been royally screwed. And his attitude about the whole thing was calm and optimistic. He didn't yell or freak out, which in turn made me not freak out. He helped turn a series of calamities into a romantic vacation. And THAT is why BITE AT FIRST SIGHT is dedicated to him.

One reader is completely right. I need to get him a good present. I'm going to start with a new blower motor for his car so the heater will work... and then I have some other, more fun ideas.

So, that was how I spent the week of my third book release. I don't think I want to travel again for awhile.
