I've decided to do that so readers can differentiate from when the story is a romance and when it isn't. All Brooklyn Ann books are romances, including my horror romances. Horror News! I've finally finished my second revision for my coming of age horror novel, The Graveyard Girls. Now it's off to my agent. And hopefully she likes it, because then it will be off to the big publishing houses to see if we can land a good book deal for it. Cross your finger for me! More Horror News! My short story about a killer waitress was accepted by Kandisha Press for their next Women in Horror anthology. I'll have more news about when that will be released later.  Art news! Test prints were made and approved for my scratchboard piece for Carrie's Legacy. The prints themselves will be done in about a week and there are still a few unclaimed. They'll be 8X10 and ship flat with protective glassine. The price will be $35 plus shipping. Let me know if you'd like to order one!

Life News: Going back into therapy was the best thing for me. For the first time in seven years, I made a list of goals for the year and a monthly plan of how to achieve each. I also made a list of unlikely dream goals, like earning enough from my books to be able to afford to marry Kent, but it's important to have big dreams as well as small ones. As you can see, I have book career goals, art goals, car repair goals, and even landscaping goals. As well as good for me things like fishing, hunting morels, and huckleberry picking.

Horror News: I should be hearing back from a publisher on a short story I'd submitted to an awesome anthology. I'm also now able to release my haunted garage short story that was originally published in the House of Haunts anthology.

Life News: For the rest of the month, I'm focusing on preparing for Christmas, trying to keep the electric bill down, and catching up on art and reading. House of Haunts is here! I have a purple house! And Halloween fun 🎃

Just in time for spooky season, the House of Haunts anthology just released! My story takes place in the garage and features a haunted 1967 Datsun Fairlday.  Josh Malerman wrote the foreword and he liked my story! EEEEEE!!!  Get it HERE!  Life news: OMG! It actually happened! We painted our house purple! I seriously thought Kent wouldn't go for it, but he said he wanted to make me happy. Awwwww! We also got all the materials we need to replace the music room roof shingles. We also discovered that the insulation up there really sucks and thankfully we have some better stuff stashed away. Sometimes it's a good thing Kent's a packrat. Halloween FUN! Those of you who've been following me awhile know that I'm a Halloween junkie. I got good headway on my decorating, but most of it I'm not showing off until next week. But here's my Jason lights I got for my birthday and a Phantasm foam pumpkin I carved. ^That's the monster potato I baked for dinner last night. I'm just showing it off because it's so epic. This is why Idaho license plates say "Famous Potatoes" LOL. Anyway... LIFE NEWS! I've been sick with a cold all weekend, scrambling to play catch-up and... :::gulp:: haven't gotten my Halloween decorations up yet!!!  OH THE SHAME! Hopefully, I'll get to it this weekend. And it's not like I haven't done anything festive. I did a horror swap in a group I'm in. ...And yes, in addition to books and other goodies, I totally sent her an Idaho Potato. And I've been watching nightly movies with my online movie club. I've also been trying to take more time to read. I think my decline in reading time is a big reason why I've been getting so many bouts of writer's block. However, although I haven't been writing much, my characters HAVE been speaking to me. For the next Brides of Prophecy book, I've been getting glimpses of how Xochitl is going to react to meeting her long lost aunt. ....Good times. :) Anyway, I have one more baked potato left over and it's calling my name.
