And it's also in this historical fantasy bundle, even though technically To Wed a Warrior, despite its medieval-y setting, takes place in modern times. They are aware of Earth, but scorn most things aside from electricity and modern plumbing.

IN HORROR NEWS:  I'm currently signing signature sheets for a limited edition chapbook. I can't say what it is, but I can recommend that you sign up for Brian James Freeman's Patreon on the Lividian Storybox Chapbooks tier. ;) Francois Vaillancourt did the art and it is so badass!

I'm adding doodles to a couple pages. For those not on the Patreon, I should have some author copies available for sale. But if this chapbook releases before September, they will only be available at my next public appearance, because I'm going to be at Massacre on the Mountain! This is a horror author event at the Timberline Lode in Mt. Hood, Oregon! This is where The Shining was filmed, and will of course include a screening of The Shining.

The event will be held September 25th-27th, with the book signing being on the 26th! You can get tickets HERE, and unlike a lot of romance events, they're very affordable (which is why I'm able to attend), at only 20 bucks! Sadly the tickets to The Shining screening are sold out for now, but if you join the Facebook Group, you can keep an eye out for if someone cancels and tickets become available. If you do join the group, you'll see that I haven't been announced yet, so shhhh! ;) So, with a 400 mile road trip in my future, I need to get my car back to reliable and roadtrip-worthy. I got a start with replacing my catalytic converter and bought a new scanner tool since I lost the one we had in the disaster that wrecked our house and took the love of my life. I had already been getting parts I need for various repairs, but I only just now recovered my tools and toolbox.

It's pretty dusty and I gotta organize and inventory my various sockets and wrenches. This will be my first trip without Kent, who made me feel safe enough to travel and be out in public at all. But I will have my son with me, thank goodness. I don't think I'd have the courage to go alone. Next time I hope to have more good news. Bye-bye until then and big virtual hugs! -Brooklyn A. Bewitching the Vampire is on Netgalley, My Book Signing, Pasta Salad Recipe, and Horror News!

HORROR NEWS!  I was invited to take part in the House of Haunts anthology. The anthology focuses on a fictional haunted house and each author has a story for each room. I was assigned the garage, which is SO ME. I just signed the contract for my story, "My Fairlady," and you'll be able to read it on October 13th!

And, finally, I've been promising you all a pasta salad recipe, so here it is!  1 package radiatore pasta (or shells, rotini, or penne) 1 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/2 cup ranch dressing 1 tablespoon dill weed 1 tablespoon parsley 1 tablespoon garlic powder 2 tablespoons parmesan 1 diced cucumber 1 diced tomato Salt and pepper to taste Cook pasta while mixing all other ingredients in a large bowl. Strain pasta under cold water to cool down. Mix pasta in the bowl Season with more herbs, ranch, or mayo as desired. Chill for at least an hour. Sprinkle with more parmesan before serving. I don't have a pic, so here's a lazy kitty.

BOOK NEWS: I passed the halfway mark on Brides of Prophecy, Book 7: RECLAIMING THE MAGIC. Since it's a second chance romance that spans across almost three thousand years, it's been challenging.  This one comes out in August. It's available for preorder. I'm way behind on that deadline and better catch up so I can get the final B Mine book done in time. I'm also still waiting on my Author copies of HIS SCREAM queen and intending to have my publisher order more copies of the first two books so I can have signed books to sell. LIFE NEWS: Kent and I went to my family's farm and played with my dad's goats and ended up with the biggest morel score we've ever gotten.

We managed to fill up our bags TWICE in two days of hiking and got almost five pounds of morels. The first thing we did was make a stuffed leg of lamb from the Julia Child cookbook. It's a two day process and such a pain, but soooo worth it. We only make it once a year and only with fresh morels.  Then I made two gallons of morel soup, we had a nice meal with it last night and froze the rest to use as sauce for pastas or to eat as soup on a cold winter night.

After all that hiking and cooking, I need to play catch up with writing. Also deciding which book I can put on sale next. In the meantime, Virtual Hugs to you all! -Brooklyn A. Good times!  LIFE NEWS: Since the Paycheck Protection Program got more funding, there is a glimmer of hope for me. My bank is working to get me approved for a loan so I can keep my household afloat. So cross your fingers for me!  I did get a little bump in book sales and every bit helps. I'm really hoping my publisher sends my author copies of HIS SCREAM QUEEN soon since I have a waiting list of people wanting to buy signed copies. If there are any left I will let you guys know. I do plan on having a big sale of print copies in the near future since I'm not able to attend any conventions or signings this year. But back to normal life. IT'S MOREL SEASON!!!! Kent and I are trying to get up in the mountains to get more. We only found one last time. They look weird, but they are SO Yummy!

I just got back from spending the weekend at the Gorge watching Dead and Company. I absolutely LOVE that venue and I have fun hanging out with hippies. I got some cool stuff at Shakedown Street too. Shakedown is this delightful hippy flea market that appears in the campground.  Here's a tapestry I got there and a view of the concert, and a view of my camping spot! I also got a romantic present from Kent! The last night of the concert, he offered to buy me something and I wanted a necklace. This one appealed to me because of the shape and texture. It's called moldavite and it happened when a meteor hit the Earth so hard that part of the earth melted and splashed up into space before falling back down. I didn't know until after Kent bought it that the stone is translucent green. I love it. Also, Shadowpaw made a perfect backdrop for taking a pic of the necklace. Book News: I'm making good progress on the 2nd B Mine book, Her Haunted Heart, and there will be an exclusive first look at the cover VERY soon, so please keep an eye on your inbox!
