Life News: As this month has the anniversaries of my mom's and grandma's deaths, I tend to get very depressed. I'm fighting that by trying to stay busy.  Here's where I am on my February goals. Things that are half crossed out are half done.  I bumped most of my outdoor goals like car repairs to March due to the weather, and also postponed the audio for Bite at First Sight due to budget. I still hope to get that one going this year, though! I probably won't get the 20K on the Lighthouse novel, but I am making good progress!  Next week, I am going to go ice fishing for the first time. I am both scared and excited about this. I'm trying for a pike. They are big and mean and tasty. Plus, Kent said if I get one, I can get a fiberglass replica and we can hang it up in the house. I love this man.

LIFE NEWS: I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season. Christmas was fun at my house. I got JAWS PJ pants and a JAWS shirt to go with the hat and socks I already had. I LOVE that movie, lol.  I also did my first painting in over a decade. A memorial portrait of our dearly departed Phantom for Kent. He liked it.

BUT WHAT ABOUT MY WRITING? Although I'm happy I'm doing art again, I recently got back into therapy to get over my writing block. It's helping and I'm pleased to announce that I'm making headway on my epic coming-of-age horror novel AND on the next Brides of Prophecy book! BOOK NEWS: I passed the halfway mark on Brides of Prophecy, Book 7: RECLAIMING THE MAGIC. Since it's a second chance romance that spans across almost three thousand years, it's been challenging.  This one comes out in August. It's available for preorder. I'm way behind on that deadline and better catch up so I can get the final B Mine book done in time. I'm also still waiting on my Author copies of HIS SCREAM queen and intending to have my publisher order more copies of the first two books so I can have signed books to sell. LIFE NEWS: Kent and I went to my family's farm and played with my dad's goats and ended up with the biggest morel score we've ever gotten.

We managed to fill up our bags TWICE in two days of hiking and got almost five pounds of morels. The first thing we did was make a stuffed leg of lamb from the Julia Child cookbook. It's a two day process and such a pain, but soooo worth it. We only make it once a year and only with fresh morels.  Then I made two gallons of morel soup, we had a nice meal with it last night and froze the rest to use as sauce for pastas or to eat as soup on a cold winter night.

After all that hiking and cooking, I need to play catch up with writing. Also deciding which book I can put on sale next. In the meantime, Virtual Hugs to you all! -Brooklyn A. I just got back from spending the weekend at the Gorge watching Dead and Company. I absolutely LOVE that venue and I have fun hanging out with hippies. I got some cool stuff at Shakedown Street too. Shakedown is this delightful hippy flea market that appears in the campground.  Here's a tapestry I got there and a view of the concert, and a view of my camping spot! I also got a romantic present from Kent! The last night of the concert, he offered to buy me something and I wanted a necklace. This one appealed to me because of the shape and texture. It's called moldavite and it happened when a meteor hit the Earth so hard that part of the earth melted and splashed up into space before falling back down. I didn't know until after Kent bought it that the stone is translucent green. I love it. Also, Shadowpaw made a perfect backdrop for taking a pic of the necklace. Book News: I'm making good progress on the 2nd B Mine book, Her Haunted Heart, and there will be an exclusive first look at the cover VERY soon, so please keep an eye on your inbox!
