BOOK NEWS: I passed the halfway mark on Brides of Prophecy, Book 7: RECLAIMING THE MAGIC. Since it's a second chance romance that spans across almost three thousand years, it's been challenging.  This one comes out in August. It's available for preorder. I'm way behind on that deadline and better catch up so I can get the final B Mine book done in time. I'm also still waiting on my Author copies of HIS SCREAM queen and intending to have my publisher order more copies of the first two books so I can have signed books to sell. LIFE NEWS: Kent and I went to my family's farm and played with my dad's goats and ended up with the biggest morel score we've ever gotten.

We managed to fill up our bags TWICE in two days of hiking and got almost five pounds of morels. The first thing we did was make a stuffed leg of lamb from the Julia Child cookbook. It's a two day process and such a pain, but soooo worth it. We only make it once a year and only with fresh morels.  Then I made two gallons of morel soup, we had a nice meal with it last night and froze the rest to use as sauce for pastas or to eat as soup on a cold winter night.

After all that hiking and cooking, I need to play catch up with writing. Also deciding which book I can put on sale next. In the meantime, Virtual Hugs to you all! -Brooklyn A. I've also begun research for the 4th and (for now) last B Mine book. That means lots of 80's movies about frat parties and evil houses. Good times!  LIFE NEWS: Since the Paycheck Protection Program got more funding, there is a glimmer of hope for me. My bank is working to get me approved for a loan so I can keep my household afloat. So cross your fingers for me!  I did get a little bump in book sales and every bit helps. I'm really hoping my publisher sends my author copies of HIS SCREAM QUEEN soon since I have a waiting list of people wanting to buy signed copies. If there are any left I will let you guys know. I do plan on having a big sale of print copies in the near future since I'm not able to attend any conventions or signings this year. But back to normal life. IT'S MOREL SEASON!!!! Kent and I are trying to get up in the mountains to get more. We only found one last time. They look weird, but they are SO Yummy!

Release day for HIS SCREAM QUEEN!

Anyway, I am so sorry for the delay between posts. I was super sick for almost two weeks. I don't think I had the plague since it was all in my throat and sinuses, but it was bad.  Thank goodness I'm better now and just in time to announce my NEW RELEASE!  My prom-themed horror romance set in 1984, HIS SCREAM QUEEN is here!

And I really fell in love with the hero. Lucio Argento is such a sweetheart and Jamie Blair brought back some memories for me. Their romance seemed to flow better than others I've written and the murder scenes were a lot of fun. Remember how I'd said my deadline for HIS SCREAM QUEEN was Valentine's Day? Turns out I was mistaken. It's the 25th and I only have about 4 1/2 chapters to go, so I think I'm going to make it! ...That means I'll have more of a leg to stand on if I decide to send my publisher an email asking when they expect the cover to be done.  As for my difficult Valentine's day, it turned out pretty good. Kent and I did our date the night before. We went to Red Lobster and OMG, my food was amazing, and then we saw Birds of Prey. SUCH A FUN MOVIE! I highly recommend it if you like cheesy fun.

In other good news, my two year anniversary of quitting smoking was yesterday and I got myself a good treat that should show up in the mail soon.
