Other Book News: I DID IT! I finally finished the rough draft of my coming of age horror novel, The Graveyard Girls! This is the most ambitious thing I've ever written. So much so that I wasted a whole year frozen in terror instead of writing it and had to go back to therapy. You can read about that experience HERE.  Life News: I got two more goth plants for my black and purple landscaping plan! The first one came as a root ball and it's going off. But I also got a whole live one! It's called Rock n' Grow Back in Black stonecrop. They'll be almost black when they grow up. I also found out that there is black GRASS! So I'll have that on the way soon.

YOLO WITH KOBO PLUS! KISSING VICIOUS ON RADISH, AND OTHER NEWS!

Today is a very special Kobo Plus romance celebration, #YOLO with Kobo! (YOLO stands for You Only Live Once, aka, life is too short to not have ALL the books you want) I think it's funny an cute that they went with old-school slang for this, but yeah. If you aren't familiar with Kobo Plus, let me tell you about how much I love it as a book subscription.  It's basically all the hot, must-read indie romances that are not in Kindle Unlimited.  I have ALLLLLL of books in it, so does Grace Burrowes, Zoe York, Mimi Flood, Carrie Ann Ryan, Emmanuelle de Maupassant, Sarina Bowen, Mari Carr, Suzanna Medeiros, etc.  It;s the most affordable book subscription on the market, plus the first month is free in most places. And unlike KU, it's not flooded with content-stuffing and AI junk. If you haven't tried it yet, today is a great day to give it a test drive, because we got a master list of the books to load your account up with: and there's no download limit!

This event is Highlighting my rockstar romance, With Vengeance, though there was a goof and it has the title as Kissing Vicious. However, it doesn't matter because you can get BOTH on on Kobo Plus! You can get the whole Hearts of Metal series! Or any of my other series, for that matter.  The Bite Me, Your Grace audiobook is there too! Other News: I'm giving Radish a try. For those who don't know, Radish is a phone app that lets you read chapters of books in episodic format.  Right now, the first 10 chapters of Kissing Vicious are up there free, so if you're not interested in Kobo, you can read the book for free on Radish, though the following chapters release for free next week, or you can use their coin system to unlock the others. Because it's a phone app, I can't link to the book, but check out the hottie I have to represent this story.

OTHER BOOK NEWS: I got unstuck with The Graveyard Girls and got a ton more written. This book is the longest thing I've written and the final draft will probably be as long as Robert McCammon's coming of age horror novel, Boy's Life. (That book is AWESOME. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!) But it won't be as long as Stephen King's IT because I'm not that crazy and not talented enough to write a 300,000 word tome that will actually be good, lol. I STILL haven't heard back from the anthology publisher about that short horror story I submitted. So I'm researching other places to send it to. I got most of the Brides of Prophecy covers updated and will show those off soon. Though some of you have probably already seen them on Amazon and other places. And, of course, I'm working on the preliminary outline for Book 10 and there will be a giveaway related to that. Audio News: The narrator for the Bite Me, Your Grace audiobook is set to start on One Bite Per Night on the 23rd! It will take longer to come out since I'm sending the book in portions that I can afford each month. As a reminder, anyone who donates to my audiobook fund gets a free copy of the audiobook when it's done. Life News: I'm still torn up about the loss of my Grandma. I'm having lunch with my other Grandma tomorrow and thanking the fates that at least I still have her in my life. I'm doing my best to stay busy so I don't wallow in grief. Status of my Audio Book fund. Many of my readers have requested my books in audio, but I don't quite have the funds to hire a narrator. Why not ACX, or other royalty-share programs? Because with those, you don't get rights to your work for several years and I've been burned by that road before. Which book will I do first in audio? The top contenders are Wrenching Fate (Brides of Prophecy, Book 1) and Kissing Vicious (Hearts of Metal, book 1). However, His Final Girl, (B Mine, book 1) is another contender. I'll be surveying my supporters to see which one they want first! Go HERE to support my goal! Alternately, I have a store where I have signed paperbacks and ebooks up for grabs for lower prices than you'll see anywhere else. Some ebooks are even free with the option to tip.

SOUP FOR MY FAMILY! This will probably be the last time I mention morel mushrooms for the year. We got most of our haul dehyrated, but there were still a bunch that didn't fit in the dehydrator, so I made concentrated soup. These six vaccuum-sealed bags will be frozen. And each should be able to make a gallon of soup! I will use some to use for sauce on cheese tortellini or in stroganoff too.

Weekend Plans: I'm hopefully going to be doing a lot of writing. And should have a release date for Bewitching the Vampire next week. I will also be watching Fangoria's Chainsaw Awards (like the Oscars, but for Horror). It's gonna be on Shudder on Sunday.

LIFE NEWS: We had a few family members over for Thanksgiving for the first time since before Covid. It was nice to see them and even nicer that my son had the day off so he could help us cook and clean. 

Book News: 

 I got started on the next Brides of Prophecy book, made a little more progress on my coming-of-age horror novel, and still working on my screenplay adaptation of His Final Girl. I'm also in the beginning steps of my plans to raise funds to start getting some of my books in audio. But more on that later.

I'm almost done with To Tempt A Sorcerer. This story is going to be so fun! 

Here's a cute snippet I wrote:

“Delgarias commanded all high sorcerers without apprentices to take one so that more high-level mages will be better prepared for the war. Surely he told you about that so you both could gloat together.”

“Well, I thank you for your sacrifice.” Zareth smirked. He’d definitely heard about Delgarias’s command. “I’d still like to meet her.”

Panic fluttered in Rayven’s gut. There was no way that the half faelin sorcerer wouldn’t sense Tiana’s luminite blood. No way he wouldn’t tell Xochitl and Kerainne Leonine. And then they’d all assume the worst of him. As people always did.

Your wanting her to increase your power isn’t exactly noble, a strange voice spoke up in his mind.

Rayven coughed. “She’s busy with her studies.”

Zareth laughed, low and sinister. “You know something interesting? For all our centuries of enmity, you’ve never directly lied to me before. You’re here because the girl found a way to sneak to Earth, aren’t you? That’s why you have all these questions about disobedient apprentices and appropriate punishments.” When Rayven remained frozen and didn’t reply, Zareth shook his head and stood. “Never mind. I can laugh at your predicament later. I need to head back to my wife before Bleeding Vengeance begins playing. I’ll meet your apprentice another time. You can’t hide her forever.”

Can’t hide her forever. The same words the Duchess of Kinsen had thrown at him, only far less teasing coming from the King.

Still, Rayven sighed in relief when Zareth vanished from his side. He wasn’t ready to let anyone know that he had a half-luminite in his care. The power he hoped to get from their arrangement was now secondary. He didn’t want to lose her.

As you can see, this isn't only a Brides of Prophecy spinoff, but there are also some Hearts of Metal connections.
