Anyone else feel like we're in the BAD timeline? Let's hide from it with some books!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I'd been busy with the process of moving, which still isn't done. I've also been dealing with a huge clusterf*ck that I can't speak about yet, but when it is time, I will unleash it ALL. There's also been some good stuff, which I'll share in the "Life News" portion at the bottom. But yeah, life sucks, we've all had terrible losses, and I know I'm not the only one who's over it all. So I'm sharing some book specials and news. Both my spicy books and my spooky books. (If you're here for the horror only, scroll down!) Firstly, I'm participating in the Spicy Curvy Romance Reads feature. These all feature plus sized heroines, so you will find all genres, though from what I see, the majority appear to be contemporaries. I naturally am featuring Bewitching the Vampire, my fun enemies to lovers romance between the Lord Vampire of New Orleans and the head of the local witch coven. This one is a good one to dip your toes into my Brides of Prophecy series. Or, if you were reading the early books and life came up and you're hesitant to get to the later books because you think you need a refresher on the earlier books, don't worry. This book has you because all the main characters are completely in the dark about the main series shenanigans. Chronologically, it takes place at the same time as books 6, 7, and 8.  But yeah, in addition to the standalone spinoffs, I try to write most of the main books in such a way that you don't have to reread the previous installments to know WTF is going on. Even though this one is just a feature, I decided to do a discount, so, for a limited time, Bewitching the Vampire is $2.99 I usually list all the retailers, but I'm late getting this out, so I have em listed on the book page of my site HERE. Also, I haven't had time to let everyone know about my latest audio release, aside from the big release day announcement, which totally sucks because that probably tanked it in the algorithm. ...I hate the algorithm.

My regency vampire romance, Bite at First Sight audiobook is here and turned out fantastic, thanks to my wonderful HUMAN voice actress, Claire Glover. She did voicework on One Piece, you guys! You can get it on Audible, but if you don't want to overpay, try these retailers: Ko-fi Itch.io Curios Kobo Google Play Apple Chirp Audiobooks.com Audiobook Store Libro FM You can even request it for your library because it's on Overdrive, which goes through the Libby app! Or on Hoopla! Prefer to borrow? You can help bring this book to your local community! Open your Libby app or log into Overdrive and search for Bite at First Sight. Tap "Recommend to Library" or "Notify Me" to request that your local library system purchase a digital copy! It'll be on Barnes & Noble soon too. And Spotify in....awhile. Spotify takes forever.  When I catch up on work and my horrific life circumstances, I'm going to figure out how to make an audiobook bundle of these 3 Scandals With Bite books.  I also hope I can raise or earn the money to get started on adapting the Brides of Prophecy books into audio.  Horror News: Massacre on the Mountain is coming this month! I ordered my books and will have art and swag too. Details are on my Appearances page! The organizer also finally put out this graphic with its list of attending authors.

More authors have been announced since. As well as vendors with some awesome stuff too. Tickets are only 20 bucks and there's some cool merch too! So definitely check out the Facebook group! Other horror news: My cover artist is also making great progress on the cover for the new edition of His Scream Queen!

In other news, Highway of Haunts is coming next month! I am so excited for this one. All the preorder links are on the editor's anthology page, HERE. And like the previous anthologies, there will be a limited edition. My stories in these anthologies have no romance arc, so they're under the Brooklyn Ann Butler pen name. LIFE NEWS:  My son and I had to switch temporary housing because the situation got really bad in ways that I can't talk about yet. But we found a better place, albeit a smaller one. Then there will be no resting because we gotta get my car ready to make the trip to Mt. Hood for Massacre on the Mountain, AND I gotta get my awesome swag together, which I can't wait to show off!  And in more solemn matters, our cats have some health concerns, so between that and the car stuff, I'm going to link to the Go Fund Me. (For those new to this newsletter, this gives most of the info of what's been going on with me.) Even though I've been offline a lot, I LOVE hearing from you all. Having readers is all that gets me out of bed some days. Bye-bye until next time, and big virtual hugs! -Brooklyn A. Bewitching the Vampire is back on Netgalley! Check out my article on Fresh Fiction, and Bach Patch!

Hey everyone! I can't believe summer is over! Although I am excited for fall and all things Halloween and pumpkin spice (yes, I'm one of THOSE) I've always been a summer baby. Though with the higher temperatures and constant wildfires and smoke, summer hasn't been as magical as it used to be. Anyway, my vampire-witch urban fantasy romance, Bewitching the Vampire got another Netgalley listing, and this one is through a co-op, which means if you got rejected last time, you won't this time. Here's a link to get auto-approved!

Other Writing News: I was invited to be a columnist for the book review site, Fresh Fiction. Check out my first column HERE!  Horror News: I just finished edits on my story for the House of Haunts anthology coming out next month for Parlor Ghost Press!

Life news: The fires are finally out, which means I get to do the brakes on my car. Today I'm going to do the rear brakes, which is a little daunting because I haven't worked on drum brakes in over a decade. But I got all new parts and the old ones on my Honda probably won't be as rusted in as those on my poor Datsun. Operation purple house is being delayed because we need to replace the roof over the music room and the one over the garage. It's an expensive bummer.  In fun news, my son's birthday is on Monday, but we're celebrating a day early so we can take him to our favorite smokehouse and BBQ place for brisket.  I told him that I'd paint him a back patch for his heavy metal battle vest he's started. Because he likes puns and classical music, he asked for a Bach patch. Here it is! I'm also making headway on the Graveyard Girls. And will have some big news about the B Mine series soon. Next week, there's going to be a freebie!  Until next time, Virtual Hugs! -Brooklyn A. Life News: In exchange for getting to play tour guide for a pair of nice flatlanders from the midwest, we got to get up in the mountains and replenish our stock of huckleberries. YAY! Those of you who've been reading my books for a while know that they come up in almost every book.  Subscribe to: Posts (Atom) Support my Audiobook Fund! Search This Blog We're hoping to get out one more time because in sort of happy news, I WAS right about the mystery shaking and pulling in my car being rubber separating on the inside of the tire opposite from the one that had the blowout. I sold some huckleberrries to pay for the tire.  That means those front tires went within 200 miles of each other. The former mechanic in me still has it! I was afraid my first instinct was wrong and I either had something disastrous in my suspension (she does need bushings) or that my brake caliper piston was going out. I do still need to replace my brakes, but thankfully not immediately, just soon.  Writing News: Speaking of car stuff, I have some fun news for my horror readers. I'll tell you all about it next week. And once I finish up with that, it's back to work on The Graveyard Girls!  I hope you all have an amazing weekend! Until next time, Virtual Hugs! -Brooklyn A.
