Secret Book REVEALED!

OMG, OMG, OMG, it is so hard to believe that I've been able to keep this quiet for almost a year. All my life, I've loved horror movies and novels. I even wanted to WRITE horror, but just like my attempts at writing fantasy, my characters kept falling in love. So I resigned myself to writing romance, which didn't bother me at all because I've ADORED romance novels ever since I picked up my first one. Come to think of it, I think my romance novel addiction happened at the same time as my Stephen King addiction. But all through my 19 books and counting career of writing romance, my love and enthusiasm for horror, ESPECIALLY the cheesy 80's movies, never waned. In fact, it grew. Anyway, a year ago, my publisher said she wanted a new series from me. I was suffering burn-out from my regencies and rock stars (still love em, but after six of each, it was time for something different.) "I STILL want to write horror!" I whined to Kent. "But everything I write turns into a romance!" "Why can't you do both?" he asked. At first, I opened my mouth to argue, then I shut it. Why couldn't I?  In Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Alice's boyfriend lives. In Night of the Demons, the Final Girl AND a guy live. (In my head-canon, they fell in love after, lol) And an idea came! I emailed my publisher and agent and pitched a series of books themed on 80's B horror movies, only instead of there being a Final Girl, there'd be a Final Couple who'd get their HEA after defeating the killer/monster/demon/etc. I expected them to reject the idea, but THEY LOVED IT and I SIGNED A FOUR BOOK CONTRACT!  The series will be called "B Mine" after my beloved B movies, (as you can see from the logo above) and book one, HIS FINAL GIRL will release on April 25th! This one is a summer camp slasher story that takes place in 1978 and pays homage to many beloved horror tropes. I had so much fun writing it that I was giggling while typing. There is lots of campy murder and mayhem AND a sexy romance between my computer nerd hero, Wes Carpenter and my farm girl heroine, Linnea Langenkamp. (Horror fans will giggle at those names). This series is a dream come true and I hope you enjoy them. OTHER NEWS: I went on a reading binge, so I fell behind on getting the paperback for Melding Souls done. What Happens When A Cover Model Turns Out To Be A Jerk?

Okay, so here's the tea. First, back in January, cover model Jimmy Thomas went on a rant that body-shamed women. It was bad. Readers threatened to boycott books that had him on the cover and cover artists volunteered discounts for authors to change said covers. I was broke and busy wrapping up Melding Souls and the new secret book, so I couldn't change mine right away.  And then in February he went on an even more insane rant saying that sex trafficking should be legal because the women and girls "wanted it." And also, something messed up about how women should always give sex to men because they NEED it because testosterone. ??? Anyway, I think this asshat is on full 'roid rage or something.  If you want to see the screenshots of his ugly rants, you can type his name in the search bar in Twitter or FB. The stuff is too ugly for me to quote. Anyway, the point is, Jimmy was purged from the cover of Pleading Rapture. Here is the new cover.

The paperback hasn't been changed yet, because that's a slightly longer process, but I hope to have that accomplished next week.... the same time that the paperback of Melding Souls will be out!  I also plan on gradually changing the other Brides of Prophecy covers. Wrenching Fate will be next.  Other news: Surprise, surprise! Kissing Vicious is still on sale for 99 cents! My publisher doesn't discount my Hearts of Metal books often, so jump on this while you can. Kissing Vicious is on sale for 99 cents for a couple days! You can get it on  Amazon iBooks Nook Kobo  This is the first book in my Hearts of Metal series and it was such a blast to write. A tough as nails, tomboy guitarist gets to become a roadie for her favorite band and tries to fight the chemistry between her and the sexy lead singer. It was a theraputic story to write because I got to vent about all the problems a woman can develop with accepting her femininity after being raised by a sexist father. Other news: I am wrapping up the last two chapters of my SECRET project. Since it comes out April 25th, I'm anticipating getting a cover from my publisher soon. Either way, I'm going to start dropping hints next week. ::evil laugh:: I'm also ordering my swag for Booklover's Con in May. My books for the Goody Room arrived as well.  There's still time to register for the convention! The full 4-day con is $390 and that includes access to the lottery events, but they also have All-Access day passes for $200, so you can pick which day has the events and parties you're most interested in and come for the day.  And of course, the book signing on Saturday is free and open to the public.
