LIFE NEWS Our week was pretty eventful. We had my aunt and uncle over for dinner. I made boeuf bourguignon with morels for my aunt and uncle. (video recipe HERE). They seem to be holding up pretty well after the loss of my cousin, and we're all determined to have more family time. A few days later, Shadowpaw brought us a live baby bunny. We put him in an aquarium and gave him food and water and snuggles, but alas, he passed away after two days. He was really cute. Mayhem was very confused by the whole situation.

Many of my readers have requested my books in audio, but I don't quite have the funds to hire a narrator. Why not ACX, or other royalty-share programs? Because with those, you don't get rights to your work for several years and I've been burned by that road before. Which book will I do first in audio? The top contenders are Wrenching Fate (Brides of Prophecy, Book 1) and Kissing Vicious (Hearts of Metal, book 1). However, His Final Girl, (B Mine, book 1) is another contender. SOUP FOR MY FAMILY! This will probably be the last time I mention morel mushrooms for the year. We got most of our haul dehyrated, but there were still a bunch that didn't fit in the dehydrator, so I made concentrated soup. These six vaccuum-sealed bags will be frozen. And each should be able to make a gallon of soup! I will use some to use for sauce on cheese tortellini or in stroganoff too. Weekend Plans: I'm hopefully going to be doing a lot of writing. And should have a release date for Bewitching the Vampire next week. I will also be watching Fangoria's Chainsaw Awards (like the Oscars, but for Horror). It's gonna be on Shudder on Sunday. Not the trippy kind that some of my book characters like to indulge in, but morel mushrooms, which are also often mentioned in my books and grow in most forested areas in the northern hemisphere. They are weird-looking and like to hide, but they're delicious. Every spring we go up in the mountains to hunt them. We ended up scoring three pounds of them this season! Then we first make an epic stuffed leg of lamb. It's a two day process, but oh, so worth it. Then we put some in the dehydrator to save to use throughout the year and use the rest to make a huge vat of cream of morel soup. We enjoy a bowl then vaccuum seal and freeze portions to have later as soup, or as sauce on pasta. Yum! GIVEAWAY: I joined LitRing's Author Spring Fling giveaway. Also, with how different Heart Throb looks from the others, I am wondering if I should change the covers of my Hearts of Metal books. But that's something I'll worrry about when I catch up on other stuff. Other news: WTF, Amazon?!! So aside from letting in a glut of AI content, I heard that Amazon jacked up the price of Kindle Unlimited. I can guarantee that the authors won't see a penny of that increase. Especially since their revenue was cut recently. But Kobo Plus just expanded to the US, so I recommend checking them out! Movie Rec: OMG, you guys, I am in LOVE with the movie, Renfield. Nic Cage is Dracula, Nicolas Hoult is Renfield, it's like a cross between a horror comedy and a superhero movie and it has a realistic portrayal of toxic relationships with an abuser. I loved it so much that I had the movie theater reserve the poster for me and I preorderd the DVD/BluRay combo pack. It's streaming on Vudu and a few other places, but if it's still in your local theater, I highly recommend it!
